On its 70th anniversary, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts invites you to Be Part of the Story and discover the unseen craft behind the world’s greatest art in motion.
Be Part of the Story extends the conversation well beyond the awards season and reinforces BAFTA’s core mission: to help talent enter and flourish in the moving art industries. AKQA worked as creative partner with BAFTA to define the positioning, strategy and art direction for Be Part of the Story – from bespoke illustrations to award programmes and ticket design.
Working with up-and-coming artists, one unique visual will be created for each of the five annual BAFTA award shows – Film, Games, Television, Television Craft and Children’s. Each illustration will shine a light on the skill, craft and devotion that goes into every award- worthy project.
For the 2017 EE British Academy Film Awards, illustrator David Doran applied his rich and playful graphic style to an artwork that reveals the diverse team of talent involved in the film industry – from directors and actors through to choreographers, stylists and foley artists. The artwork is used on BAFTA’s social channels, website and sites across London.
